Some of us have been discussing how to get more involvement from Faribault area mountain bikers in the formation of CROCT, as our initial group consists mostly of riders from the Northfield area. We know that there’s a large number of them, judging from the turnout at a meeting that was held back in April 2012 at the River Bend Nature Center.
So I contacted my buddy Glenn Holman, longtime member of the Faribault Flyers Bike and Ski Club, to let him know what we were doing and he graciously agreed to insert this in the club’s enewsletter that he publishes regularly:
A group of mountain bikers in the Northfield area is in the process of forming a club called the Cannon River Offroad Cyclists and Trails (CROCT). We’d love to have Faribault area mountain bikers join us in our pursuit to establish and maintain multi-use mountain biking trails and bike parks in the Cannon River valley of Rice and Dakota counties.
We plan to become a chapter of the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) and are in the process of forming a board. If you’re interested in becoming involved or just finding out more, attend one of our monthly club meetings (7 pm, 1st Monday of each month starting March 3, 2014) or contact us.
